Delivering a closing speech at the Da Nang Semiconductor Microchips Investment Promotion Conference, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang said that since October 2023 to the event date, the city had rastically and consistently implemented many specific steps with the main orientation of focusing on developing human resources in semiconductors microchips and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors, focusing on boosting linkages and cooperation with large, reputable domestic and international enterprise and partners to attract investment, train human resources and establish an ecosystem for the city's semiconductor, microchip, and AI industries.

Past time, the city has conducted numerous meetings, supported appeals for investment in infrastructure and human resource training in the semiconductor microchips and AI sectors to meet both the city’s growth objectives and the specific workforce needs of businesses.

At the event, the first "Da Nang Semiconductor Microchips Day 2024" is being held and is expected to mark a significant milestone in Danang's development journey. Starting in 2024, As unanimously chosen by the city, August 30 every year is "Da Nang Semiconductor Microchips Day".

Currently, the city has been building political and legal foundations to create policies to attract, encourage investment and boost cooperation for development in the fields of Semiconductors Microchips and Artificial Intelligence (AI), after the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on June 26, 2024 on the organisation of urban governance and the pilot implementation of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city.

It can be said that Da Nang is the first locality to be granted special mechanisms for the development of the semiconductor microchips sector. These include outstanding incentive policies for strategic investors and partners in the semiconductor and AI sectors.

Specifically, these policies include corporate income tax exemption, personal income tax exemption; financial aid for training and education in the semiconductor microchip sector; policies to attract experts and scientists; financial aid for the purchase of support equipment for business; and policies  to direct lease of information infrastructure assets without auction, direct contractor selection and procurement of specialized equipment from strategic partners in the semiconductor and AI sectors, etc.

Regarding infrastructure, the city will continue to focus on coordinated investment, modernizing the infrastructure system to support the high-tech and semiconductor microchip industries…; and on track to complete Software Park No. 2 to entice both investors, research and development centers.

The city aims to establish long-term cooperation with partners,  investors, and businesses, strengthening their commitment to the successful execution of investment projects and signed agreements, while focusing on human resource training and technology transfer.

The city encourages to actively contribute to developing policies and human resource training activities for the city's semiconductor industry, aiming for sustainable development and creating positive societal impact alongside economic benefits.
