About farmstay
Farmstay is known as a type of resort tourism, which is a hybrid combination of farm and accommodation – a tourist destination for visitors to join and experience practical activities on the farm such as harvesting fruits, livestock, processing and enjoying dishes made from the farm's own ingredients... Because of this different tourism model, farmstay is very interesting and chosen by many tourists and guests feeling like to experience it, especially young people and international guests.
It is known that farmstay emerged in Italy in the 1980s, then quickly spread and developed in North America, Australia and Asia. The rapid and widespread development of farmstay is said to start from the unique experiences as well as the closeness to nature that these tourism models bring to tourists. More specifically, today's tourists are "overwhelmed" with luxury, modern and full of vehicles cities; therefore, they flock to farmstay to relax, experience new activities and contemplate natural landscapes that cannot be found in big cities, so farmstay has appeared in many places around the world to meet the needs of those tourists.
Farmstay in Vietnam and new investment trend
In Vietnam, farmstay has just been popular in recent years. In the past, the owners of farmstay were often native people who took advantage of their agricultural land fund, opening day sightseeing services for tourists. This model has developed very well, especially creating an environment for the young generation to have the opportunity to experience life in the countryside and rivers. But nowadays, many institutional investors have participated in this potential market recently. Typically, the rapid establishment of farmstay projects in famous localities such as Binh Chau - Vung Tau, Lagi - Binh Thuan, Ham Tan, Ham Thuan Bac, Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong, Long Khanh, Gia Lai, Long An, Vung Tau and Cu Chi (HCMC) in which, some projects can be mentioned such as Sunny Farm in Da Lat, Chay Lap farmstay in Quang Binh, Green Field farmstay in Ba Ria Vung Tau.
Farmstay is considered as the current investment trend in Vietnam because of the benefits that these tourism models bring.
In conclusion,
Currently, farmstay projects are a new investment trend that investors are paying attention to. However, besides the benefits that farmstay bring, investors also need to think cautiously and find out carefully about legal aspects as well as other issues before investing in the farmstay model.
