The signing of these agreements has created favorable conditions for the exchange, purchase and sale of goods between enterprises of the two countries. In 2016, Singapore invested in 18/21 economic sectors in Vietnam, mainly in the fields of processing technology, manufacturing with 494 projects; the total capital of the investment from Singapore was registered at USD 16.1 billion, accounting for 44.3% of total investment capital of Singaporean enterprises in Vietnam. In addition, Singaporean investors also registered a capital of USD 10.9 billion in the real estate sector, accounting for 30% of the total investment capital in Vietnam. In particular, in 2020, despite the influence of Covid 19, investors from Singapore still maintain the leading in the list of countries investing into Vietnam.
In Danang, in the first quarter of 2018, Singaporean enterprises ranked first in foreign investment, specifically the total investment capital registered by Singaporean enterprises was USD 717.87 million (accounting for 23.44% of total foreign investment capital in Danang). Singaporean enterprises are mainly focused on investing in the fields of information technology and clean energy. Especially, in recent times, many Singaporean businesses have paid much attention to investing into Danang's high-tech zones and industrial zones. In order to support Singaporean and other foreign enterprises, Danang has appropriate incentives such as exemption from land rentals, infrastructure use fees, and corporate income tax with the aim of further promotion of foreign investment projects, creating breakthrough for the city in the future.
Currently, Vietnam in general and Danang in particular has continually created favourable conditions for a fair policy, environment and playground not only for Singaporean enterprises but also for other foreign enterprises to develop their capacity and position in this S-shaped land.
